Members Bring New Capabilities and Expanded Geographic Reach to the Group
PITTSBURGH – NOVEMBER 25, 2008 – Brand and Company, Korea’s first and the leading “Total Brand Consulting” company and San Diego-based Morris! Communication, a firm targeting lifestyle and young adult brand strategy, are the newest additions to the MAGNET Global Network of independent advertising agencies.
Brand and Company was originally founded in 1986 as a brand strategy and naming company called KOTIC. The firm was rebranded in 1998 to better reflect its expertise in global brand strategy, management, research, naming, brand design and I/E communications. The firm is focused on providing the best brand solutions for its wide array of clients including Samsung, LG Electronics, Korea Telecom, SKT, Hyundai and others in the financial, insurance, fashion and technology sectors, as well as many other well-known consumer brands.
Morris! Communication is a cross-media branding firm founded in 1994, specializing in consumer lifestyle products and in young adult brand strategy and expression. The firm’s expertise is expressed across a wide variety of media to ensure a singular voice and consistency of message for clients. In 2007 Morris! launched a sister company and strategic consultancy called The Mining Company, to work with organizations to unearth the core values inherent within the organization, and help align its employees and company culture to become a living embodiment of those vales.
Steven Morris, founder and CEO of Morris! says he joined the Network to connect with and learn from smart, successful and driven international agencies facing the same challenges as his firm does, and to gain deeper insight into how others look at growth and adapt to industry change from a regional and international perspective. “This will better allow me and my team to understand the industry landscape and adapt to the significant changes happening in our global economy. I also hope we can use our expertise in the young adult market to assist some of our partner agencies.”
Brand and Company’s co-founder and Vice President, Katy Choi, says the Network will help her firm provide localized support for their clients around the world. “We also believe that our approach to brand development will be of interest to our partner firms and we look forward to working with them to assist our clients and to secure new ones.”
With the addition of Brand and Company and Morris!, MAGNET has added six new agency partners in just the last 16 months, according to MAGNET Executive Director Cheri Gmiter. “In this economic climate, agencies need to be ready to serve clients wherever and with whatever capabilities clients need – often at a moment’s notice. The Network gives members access to experience and resources they may not have internally. It’s a great way to quickly tap expertise or geographic insights when you need them without adding staff or resources.”
